Robyn & Felipe - June 2017
The very first time we visited Deighton Lodge we knew it was the place for us. We saw the beautiful renovations that Carla had done on the cottage and knew that she was going to turn the barn into a spectacular Wedding venue. We were also drawn towards the idea that we could tailor-make our day. Many other venues provide you with numerous restrictions but with Deighton Lodge we could see endless possibilities and we knew that Carla would support us to achieve the unique Wedding of our dreams.
I had decided to wear my grandmother's 1940's Wedding dress for the big day which inspired a vintage theme for the event. Our florist, Beamsley Blooms, had some gorgeous vintage tea tins which she displayed English wildflowers in, from her garden, for our centrepieces. Homegrown Hospitality provided the catering, which was a delicious Hog Roast with all the trimmings and Pollie Ann Bakes created a fantastic, naked, 4-tier cake for us with fresh fruit
As the groom is from Colombia, the evening took on more of a Latin Fiesta feel! A salsa band provided the entertainment and we served empanadas made by the father of the groom. We were even able to have a Bring Your Own Bottle policy for our bar as there were no corkage charges. Many family members from Colombia stayed in the cosy bedrooms at the cottage too.
We are so grateful that we were able to create our dream Wedding Day at Deighton Lodge. We were so proud of ourselves and our guests really appreciated all of the little details which made it truly 'us'
